DAY WISE TOUR ITINERARY
Arrival at Guwahati Airport, driver will pick you up and then transfer to Tezpur.
After arrival Check in & Stay overnight at Tezpur.
After breakfast drive to Dirang. Enroute at Tipi visit Orchid Center - houses a
large number of species of orchids, and thus is seen as an important tourist
destination in the district. And visit Sessa Orchid Sanctuary (blooming is from end
March till May), reach Dirang and visit the Dirang Monastery - built to protect
Bomdila from invasions. It was also used as a prison during the ill-famed Vietnam
War and a refuge during the World War. Check into the hotel and overnight at Dirang.
After breakfast drive to Tawang, enroute you will visit Sella Pass - a high-altitude
mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng districts in
the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. And Sella Lake, one of these lakes situated
at the top of the sela pass, located at the height of the approximate 4200m This
sela pass is regarded as the significant location in the indo china border. Also
visit Jaswant Ghar and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall, also known as
Bong Bong Falls. Reach Tawang and check in to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Today morning after early breakfast, you will drive to Bumla Pass which is located
about 37 km away from Tawang at the Indo-China border over 15,200 ft above sea
level. A further drive will take you to visit high altitude lake called as
Shunga-tser Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake located 35, kms away from Tawang
near the China Border. The drive to Shunga-tser Lake is full of thrill and one can
still see the war bankers that had been used during the Chinese aggression in 1962.
Nestled amidst the pristine mountains and picturesque surrounding, It was formed in
the aftermath of the 1950 earthquake. Prior to the earthquake, this piece of land
used to be employed as the grazing ground for the cattle. The evidence of it can be
seen in the protruding trunks of the dead trees from the middle of the lake. The
lake has been under supervision of Army men, who have also arranged for a cafeteria
nearby. Tourists can relish on the delicious Momos, Maggis topped with a cup of
tasty coffee or tea. Tourists can also take to trekking around the lake while
enjoying the gentle lashes of the pleasant breeze around. During return take a photo
stop at the beautiful PTSO lake en route (17 kms away from Tawang, Pangong Tang Tso
Lake popularly known as PT Tso which is an extremely scenic drive with bird’s eye
view of the township below). Later in the afternoon drive back to hotel. On the way
back visit Ani Gompha. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, today visit Tawang Monastery - The Monastery is the second biggest
and oldest in Asia and is known as the Tawang Ganden Namgyal Lhatse i.e., the
celestial paradise of divine site chosen by the horse. Later drive to Bomdila.
Overnight stay at Bomdila.
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati. Upon reaching, check in & over night at
Guwahati
After breakfast you will explore Mountains. Kamakhya Devi is also referred to as the
“Bleeding Goddess”. The history is that Mata Sati took her own life by jumping in
the Yagya which was performed by her father in which he didn’t invite Lord Shiva
(Mata Sati’s spouse) knowingly. This leads to Lord Shiva to take Mata Sati’s corpse
and roaming in pain. On seeing this, Lord Vishnu cut Mata Sati’s corpse into 52
pieces using his Sudarshan chakra, which formed 52 shakti peeths. It is believed
that “Yoni” of Mata Sati fell on the place, where the Kamakhya Temple is situated
today. Here are some facts about the Kamakhya Temple • The temple has three
chambers: • Western chamber is rectangular shaped and is not open for the devotees.
• The middle chamber is square shaped, with an idol of the Goddess. • The middle
chamber leads to the holy Garbha Grihya, the most important part is 20 feet under
the ground in a small cave, there is no idol but a small “Yoni” shaped kund where
one can see water coming out of it. This kund is always covered with red cloth and
flowers. • In the month of June, every year, the divinity bleeds and the water of
Bhramputra river turns red in color. It is strange until this date that there is no
scientific reason of this. • Although the temple is open 365 days a year, except for
3 days (In the month of June on the occasion of Ambubachi Mela). • Temple opens
daily from 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs and from 1430 hrs to 1730 hrs • VIP darshan facility
is available at the counter. • The dress code is formal as in other Hindu Temples.
Devotees can enter the temple without covering the head but your shoulders and legs
is a must be covered. After that proceed towards to your return journey, will drop
you at Guwahati Airport here is your trip will be end with a happy Note.
